What are my coins actually worth?
Common-date circulated silver coins usually trade close to their silver melt value, while key dates, low mintages and graded coins can be worth far more than their metal. US dimes, quarters and half dollars minted before 1965 are 90 percent silver and trade by weight.
If a coin might be collectible, note the date, the mint mark and any grading in your description: it changes the offer.

Should I clean my coins before selling?
Never. Cleaning scratches the surface and can wipe out most of a coin’s collector value in one polish. Buyers strongly prefer original, uncleaned coins, toning and dirt included.
Are old coins always worth more than their silver value?
No. Age matters less than rarity and condition. A common-date Morgan dollar in worn condition trades near its silver value, while a rarer date from the same series can be worth many times more.
What is junk silver?
US dimes, quarters and half dollars minted before 1965 are 90 percent silver. They trade by weight as junk silver, which makes them one of the easiest things to price and sell.
Do graded coins get better offers?
Usually, yes. A PCGS or NGC grade removes the guesswork for the buyer, so offers track published price guides more closely. Mention the grade and certification number in your request.
